Child illness

If you are employed under one of Finansforbundet’s collective agreements, you will usually be entitled to 5 days’ absence if your resident child (up to age 15) falls ill.

How many days off can I take?

You are entitled to up to 5 days off with pay if your resident child (up to age 15) falls ill. You don’t have to take the days off in succession or take the first day off on the child’s first day of illness.

I have more children – what then?

If you have more children, you are entitled to an additional 5 days’ absence if they fall ill in succession.

What if my child is admitted to hospital?

If your child (under age 18) is admitted to hospital or needs corresponding outpatient treatment, requiring you to be present as parents, you are entitled to up to 2 weeks’ paid leave. This can provide the necessary calm for you to be there for your child when it is needed most.
