Over the next few days, Nykredit will implement an organisational change that includes laying off 88 employees. Frustrating to see jobs disappear, says Finansforbundet.

Over the next few days, Nykredit will roll out a restructuring which will have implications across the entire organisation, including the layoff of 88 employees.

"The employees are in a very special situation right now. This is about people's jobs and future, and we find it both regrettable and sad to say goodbye to good colleagues," says Inge Sand, Local Branch President of Finansforbundet at Nykredit, and she goes on:

"The employees have achieved strong results during a period where enormous efforts have been made to unite two organisations. Throughout this process, we've made every effort to show the utmost consideration for the employees, and we remain focused on supporting them in every way we can," says Inge Sand.

Inge Sand, Local Branch President of Finansforbundet at Nykredit, and Dorrit Brandt, President of Finansforbundet, both find today's announcement from Nykredit regrettable.

Employees were briefed on the plans this past Monday.

"The employees have made a huge effort during the merger stage, which is always a difficult stage to be in as an employee. The interim financial statements speak volumes about loyalty and mindset, which makes it an even more bitter pill to swallow," says Dorrit Brandt, President of Finansforbundet.

"It's always deeply frustrating to see jobs disappear. We recognise the need for change – both across the sector and within individual companies – but laying off so many employees and managers comes at a cost.  Right now, it's crucial for the entire organisation that immediate managers are attentive and close to the employees," says Dorrit Brandt.
